National Paper Recycling Access/Paper/Paperboard Collection by State

Since 1994, the American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) has performed a series of national surveys to measure the extent and track the growth of access to community-level paper and paperboard recycling.

This map features:

• the findings of the 2005 survey, and
• highlights the availability of curbside and/or drop-off paper recycling programs for each state.

2007 Recovered Paper Annual Statistics In 2007, an all-time high 56 percent of the paper consumed in the U.S. was recovered for recycling.  The 54.3 million tons of paper recovered equal approximately 360 pounds for every man woman and child in America.
